- CBC Visitor Extension Process Varied – COVID-19 Measures The Cayman Islands Government recently announced the decision taken to close our airports for a period of 3 weeks starting from Sunday, 22nd March 2020 through to Sunday, 12th April 2020. To assist persons who will be departing the islands, the visitor extension process at Customs and Border control has been temporarily varied for visitors and work permit holders. Visitors whose permission to remain in the islands will expire between the 22nd March 2020 to 31st March 2020 will not be required to submit a Visitor Extension Application. Visitors will not have to present themselves to a Customs and Border Control Officer and no action will be taken for permission that expires between those dates. Departing work permit holders whose permission to continue working will expire on or before the 22nd March 2020, are not required to appear before a Customs and Border Control Officer to submit a Visitor Extension Application. These persons can proceed with departing the islands prior to airport closures. The travelling public is reminded that outbound flights will operate as usual through Sunday 22nd March 2020. - DCI’s Counter will Close Earlier to the Public. The Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI) wishes to advise the public of the following: Counter at the Government Administration Building will be closed one hour earlier to the public each day, starting Wednesday, March 18, 3:00 p.m.; The Trade and Business Licensing Board meeting scheduled for today, March 17 is cancelled and has been tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2020; and DCI is unable to guarantee its usual express services for trade and business licence applications. Members of the public are reminded to use the government online platforms, www.eservices.gov.ky or www.dci.gov.ky to apply for or renew trade or business licences. They can also email info@dci.gov.ky for trade and business and other licensing information.

- Clarification on self-isolation:
- Individuals in the Cayman Islands:
- Anyone who believes they may have come in contact with someone who has coronavirus should self-isolate at home for 14 days.
- Anyone who shows symptoms of coronavirus should self-isolate at home for 14 days. Symptoms include a cough, fever or shortness of breath.
- In both cases, the individual should also contact the ‘Flu Hotline on 1-800-534-8600 or 947-3077 to inform the Health Services Authority and seek medical advice. Alternatively, they may also contact their regular GP via phone.
- Individuals travelling from overseas:
- Individuals arriving from anywhere overseas are required to self-isolate at home for 14 days whether they show any symptoms of coronavirus or not. Those that do display symptoms including a cough, fever or shortness of breath, are also required to contact the ‘Flu Hotline or their regular GP to seek medical advice.
