Cayman: COVID-19 Update 8 April 2021 -2 NEW POSITIVES, 54,884 vaccines administered
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 315 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Wednesday, 7 April 2021. Two were positive.
The individuals are travellers who tested positive following routine screening. They will remain in isolation until considered recovered.
The number of people in isolation, either at a government facility or in their homes, as required by the Medical Officer of Health, will be provided when available.
The total number of COVID-19 vaccines administered to date is 54,884.
So far, 31,459 (48% of the estimated population of 65,000) have received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, with 36% having completed the two-dose course.
At the last count, the proportions of those in each age bracket under 60 who have had at least one dose are as follows:
- 28% of those aged 16 to 30
- 41% of those aged 30 to 40
- 49% of those aged 40 to 50
- 71% of those aged 50 to 60
