Cayman: COVID-19 Update 8 October 2021, 21 NEW Positives, 108,614 vaccinations given
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that as of 9a.m. Friday, 8 October there have been 763 PCR tests processed since the last report on Thursday, 7 October.
Of these, there are 21 positive test results from the community including 16 children, one of whom is an infant under one year old.
This child has been admitted to hospital and is in stable condition, as is the infant who was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, 6 October. Both children are not in need of support with breathing.
To date, there have been 108,614 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 55,530 (78% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 52,822 (74%) have completed the two dose course. Additionally, 262 (0%) have had a third or booster dose.
