Cayman: CUC’s 2024 Scholarship Recipients

In keeping with the Company’s commitment to scholastic excellence, four young Caymanians have
received financial assistance from Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (“CUC”) to assist them with
furthering their education. Demesio Frederick, Briony Gallegos, Aaron Webster and Tazmar Dawkins
will pursue university level studies at institutions in the United States, Canada and the United
Kingdom.

Demesio Frederick

A CUC employee since 2015, Demesio Frederick will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical
Engineering at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom. Demesio joined the Company’s
then System Operations Department (now Energy Supply Operations) in 2016 as a Unit Operator
Apprentice I and in 2019, was promoted to Unit Operator Apprentice and then Condition Monitoring
Assistant. In 2022, he was promoted to Supervisor System Operations, a position he currently holds.

Briony Gallegos

A past CUC Employee of the Year and a 2019 CUC scholarship recipient, Briony Gallegos will begin an
online Master’s degree in Research Design & Analysis through Florida International University in the
United States. Briony completed an online Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus
on Management in 2023. She began her CUC career in 2012 as an Intern where after she gained a
permanent role in the Customer Service Department in 2013 as a Call Centre Representative. After a
series of promotions and title changes including Collections Officer in 2017, Receivables & Remote
Locations Officer in 2019 and Revenue & Quality Assurance Analyst in 2022, Briony currently holds
the position of Supervisor Collections & Receivables, which she attained earlier this year.

Aaron Webster

Nineteen-year old Aaron Webster will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering
at the Humber College Institute of Technology & Learning in Toronto, Canada. Aaron has been gaining
experience with the Company’s Electrical Maintenance Department since 2023 on a temporary
basis.

Tazmar Dawkins

A 2021 CUC scholarship recipient, Tazmar Dawkins will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering
Management at Arkansas State University in the United States. Tazmar completed a Bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 2024 and returned to the Company for a few months’ work
experience before being awarded his second CUC scholarship opportunity.

CUC established its scholarship programme in 1989 and since then has awarded full and partial
scholarships to over 65 candidates in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, information
technology, systems operations, environmental management, sustainable energy, occupational
safety and health and financial services. In 2016, the Company further enhanced its scholarship
programme by offering assistance for qualified students to pursue their A levels.
