DEH Bulk Waste Collection moves to George Town
Grand Cayman, November 11, 2022 – George Town residents are advised to get their bulk waste ready for pick-up as the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) begins its collection in their communities from Monday, November 14 to Saturday 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, West Bay residents are reminded that Saturday, November 12 is the last day for the collection of bulk waste in their area and no further extension will be granted.
“We want to thank West Bay residents for following the guidelines provided and facilitating a smooth collection of their bulk waste as our collection crew moves to the George Town District from next week to continue serving the community”, said DEH Director Mr. Richards Simms.
This year’s Bulk Waste Collection in Grand Cayman takes place from Monday to Saturday according to the following schedule:
· West Bay November 7 – 12
· George Town November 14 – 19
· Bodden Town November 21 – 26
· North Side / East End November 28 – December 3
Residents are also reminded that any bulk waste that is put out after the announced dates will not be collected. Alternative arrangements should be made by individuals to transport these items to the George Town landfill.
The George Town Landfill operates from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and it is closed on Sunday. However, the landfill drop-off facility at the gate will remain accessible for the public and small vehicles 24 hours per day.
