Grand Cayman, July 12, 2024 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) confirms an incident involving a member of staff who sustained minor injuries after slipping and falling into a container located at the 24-hr landfill drop-off facility this morning at 9:00 AM.

Emergency services were immediately contacted and the employee was taken to the hospital for treatment. Preliminary reports indicated that the employee received minor cuts and bruises to her left and right hands as well as her right leg and ankle. Despite being in good spirits, DEH is reviewing its operational processes to ensure there is not a repeat of this occurrence.
