Cayman: DLP Notice on COVBID-19 Preparations
From Cayman Islands Department of Labour and Pensions
On Wednesday, 11th March 2020, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
Further to the Public Health Department’s confirmation of the first case of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands, the Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) is putting measures in place to protect our employees and our operations.
While our offices remain open at this time, we encourage you to join us in a proactive response by practicing social distancing, as recommended by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We highly recommend that contact be made with the department via email, post or over the phone, including the submission of complaints and documentation.
Should you choose to attend the DLP Office, please call 945-8960 or email first and an officer will determine if a face to face meeting is necessary and if so, we endeavor to have an officer contact you within 24 hours via email and/or phone and, where required, to schedule a meeting.
Please be reminded that 3-6 feet of personal space is the recommended distance to maintain between yourself and another individual to prevent transmission of the Coronavirus. We would ask that you please observe proper hand-washing techniques and refrain from entering public spaces if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms to lessen the impact of COVID-19 on the Cayman Islands community.
