TAKE NOTICE that the rescheduled ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Cayman Drama Society will take place at the Prospect Playhouse (AND ONLINE!), on Friday, 21st August 2020 at 7pm.

Please consider nominations for Officers and Committee Members for 2020-21. An important aspect of the AGM is voting in members for these key roles. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of CDS  as we continue to grow.

THE WOMEN AUDITIONS

AUDITIONS for THE WOMEN – a comedy by Clare Booth Luce (1936) – will be held at the Prospect Playhouse on Saturday 29th August 2020 at 2pm sharp with callbacks on Tuesday 2^nd September at 7:30pm. The original play had an all-female cast of 35. The CDS version will require a cast of 20 women and 1 girl (aged 13). The original play is set in New York in the 1930’s but the CDS version is set today – since the role of gossip in society has not changed one little bit, and equally, we do not care where it is set – we just need to know where to go to get a quick divorce… 
 
THE WOMEN will be presented on stage the last two weeks of February and the first week of March 2021. Lines-learning period is September/October of 2020. Off-script rehearsals will commence November 2020 with a 2-week break over the Christmas holiday. Actual stage rehearsals will begin mid-December. Paul de Freitas is Producer/Director with Erica Ebanks as Assistant Director. Full details are provided in the CDS Audition Enrollment form which you can download here.
 
All applicants to audition will receive an acknowledgment email, and a set of sample readings from the script will be provided with that email. CV19 rules apply during the auditions. Masks must be worn while in the theatre and not on stage. Seating will be spatially-distanced in groups of two chairs. Only persons auditioning will be allowed access. You must be a member of CDS to audition.
