For the first time, CDS took a children’s show on the road for free community performances.

On Sat 15th June we went to West Bay’s John Gray Memorial Church in the morning, then East End Primary School in the afternoon. Both shows were free and we estimate that more than 100 people benefited from this!

These were free shows of The Gruffalo, which was a sold out performance at the Playhouse.

Of course, we could not take the set with us but we replicated what we could and the cast sweated it out driving space to space and getting in to full costume and makeup for both.

We had pictures with the cast after, and it was an absolute joy to bring the show to new spaces and further our outreach at the theatre.

This is something we hope to do more of in the future.
