RCIPS Investigates Account Impersonating Minister, 2 October
The RCIPS Digital Forensics Hub and Financial Crime Investigation Unit are currently investigating reports received of a fake account claiming to be from Minister Tara Rivers approaching members of the public about a cash incentive.

CAYMAN ISLANDS (GIS) – The public is reminded to remain alert and vigilant when interacting on social media.
Reports have emerged of a fake account claiming to be from Minister Tara Rivers approaching members of the public about a cash incentive.
The information contained in the message is incorrect and poses a potential risk to individuals who engage.
The public are reminded to look to official sources for information on government financial support.
It is a crime to produce and share disinformation in the Cayman Islands. The matter has been shared with the Chief Information Security Officer for the Cayman Islands Government for investigation.
