Cayman: Fatal Collision on East West Arterial- FURTHER UPDATE

FURTHER UPDATE:
Shortly after 1:00AM today, 30 December, officers responded to a report of a serious single-vehicle collision on the East West Arterial, at the intersection with Doubletree Lane. A Nissan Skyline was travelling westbound when it left the roadway, collided with a utility pole, and came to rest on its side. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man age 26 of Bodden Town, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or have any information, is asked to contact the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or any traffic officer.

UPDATE: The East West Arterial has been reopened to westbound traffic from Hirst Road. Police are still on scene and motorists are advised to exercise caution and obey the instructions of traffic officers on scene.
Police are on the scene of a fatal collision on the East West Arterial, just east of Chime Street. Westbound traffic from Hirst Road is currently being diverted into Shamrock Road.
