Cayman: General Post Office Staffer Tests Positive for COVID-19
Grand Cayman, 28 October 2021
The General Post Office (GPO), in the centre of George Town, has closed today for deep cleaning and mail sanitisation.
The measure follows an employee receiving a positive result for COVID-19 following lateral flow testing. Other employees at GPO will be tested during the closure.
Postal Services staff have been wearing PPE at work, as a precaution mail already delivered to post offices boxes, will be removed, sanitised and resorted to boxes.
Members of the public are asked not to access the post office facilities until this process is complete.
GPO will reopen as soon as staff testing, building and mail sanitization procedures have been completed.
