A 26-year-old-man from George Town was charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (sawn-off shotgun) and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition) yesterday 11 August, following his arrest on Sunday 9 August in the Fountain Road area of West Bay.

The offender, was travelling in a vehicle in the Fountain Road area of West Bay about 7:30AM when his vehicle collided with a tree. The offender ran from the scene and was later traced and arrested by police.  In searching the vehicle driven by the offender,  police recovered a sawn off shotgun, loaded with one cartridge. He was later charged and appeared in court yesterday 11 August, where he was bailed to return on 18 August, 2020.
