Cayman: HSA offers online bill payment option for patients
The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) is reminding the public of its more convenient option for patients to pay their bills, including online payment.
Through the online platforms of two of the islands leading banks – Cayman National Bank and First Caribbean International Bank – patients can make payments to HSA directly from their bank accounts via the bank’s Bill Payment feature within their online portal. Patients who bank at other local Class A retail banks can also send funds via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or domestic transfer.
The EFT process is secure, fast, reliable and convenient. Visit our website for further details – www.hsa.ky/how-to-make-a-payment/.
“We constantly evaluate patient feedback as part of our patient service improvement plan and recognize that convenience and ease of payment is a service needed, which has also been highlighted through our active Patient & Family Advisory Committee,” said HSA CEO, Lizzette Yearwood. “In an increasingly technological age, we want patients to have an alternative means to make payments on their accounts from the comfort of their homes or via their mobile devices, if they should choose to do so,” continued Ms. Yearwood.
The HSA Patient & Family Advisory Committee comprises representatives of patients, family members, the community, health insurance and industry stakeholders and HSA team members who meet regularly to provide constructive feedback on a range of topics to improve the patient and family experience.
HSA Chief Financial Officer Dawn Cummings said that in addition to providing more convenient options for payment, it is anticipated that more use of the online electronic funds transfer system will help to improve patient collections.
“As patients continue to shoulder more financial responsibility for their health care expenses due to increasing healthcare costs, the online payment option also allows individuals to pay upfront for scheduled procedures at the HSA for which they already have an estimate or payment plan. This allows patients to focus their efforts solely on their health on the day of their appointment,” said Ms. Cummings.
