Wednesday morning, 1st February 2023, the Cayman Islands Fire Service responded to an alarm at the Cayman Islands Hospital.

The alarm was triggered by smoke in a mechanical room located in the Dialysis Unit.

Patients in Dialysis, Urgent Care, Pharmacy and MRI were escorted from the affected areas until the ‘all clear’ was given. The Dialysis Unit has undergone air quality testing and resumed all services on Thursday (2). Dialysis patients were contacted to reschedule their treatment for later in the day.
