Cayman: HSA Urgent Care Clinic to operate 7-days a week

Effective January 8, 2024, the Health Services Authority (HSA) will be extending its Urgent Care Clinic hours to operate seven days a week to allow patients more convenient access to urgent medical care.

“The extension aligns with our commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible when it matters most. We want to cater to the needs of our patients by providing more flexible hours to suit their schedule while at the same time reducing the need for emergency room visits for non-life threatening conditions,” said Head of Urgent Care Dr. Wilmoth Shillingford.

The clinic’s new hours of operation (starting 8th January) will be:

Monday – Friday 8 am – 8 pm

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 11 am – 8 pm

The Urgent Care Clinic provides patients with immediate and cost-effective access to medical care for common and non-emergent illnesses and injuries including, but not limited to:

  • Cold, cough, and flu symptoms, viral infections
  • Minor injuries such as mild sprains and cuts
  • Diarrhea
  • Earache
  • Insect bites and stings – including tick bites
  • Minor burns
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Sinus infection
  • Skin rashes – poison ivy, ringworm, shingles, etc.
  • Urinary tract infections

The General Practice Clinic, where an appointment is required, facilitates patients needing routine check-ups and comprehensive care for chronic conditions. The Accident and Emergency Department should be used for emergency situations only.

The Urgent Care ‘Walk-in’ Clinic is located in the George Town Hospital main entrance (atrium).
