Cayman Insurance’s smash hit – 25 years of the Cayman Islands Captive Forum
The Cayman Captive Forum is the world’s biggest international captive insurance event, where over 1,400 captive directors and managers, CFOs, risk managers and service providers from around across the globe will converge in the Cayman Islands this November to network, learn, and discuss the issues most pressing to today’s captive insurance industry.
From the first event back in 1992, the Forum has grown from strength to strength, and has a well-earned reputation for offering unparalleled educational content, delivered by world-class experts, and matched with real world experiences from those who operate captives.
The three days will be filled with interactive workshops, tutorials, inspirational speakers and panel discussions.
“This event is set to be the biggest and best yet,” said Erin Brosnihan, Chair of the Forum Committee and incoming Chair of the host organisation Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC). “We are particularly excited to welcome our impressive lineup of speakers – those who are both new and returning.”
No stranger to the Forum, Michael Bazzell will return with a new session detailing various cyber breaches of 2017; while CNN contributor and keynote speaker Mel Robbins will take the stage with her presentation “The 5 Second Rule”.
President of the National Safety Council, Deborah Hersman is also scheduled to share her lessons learned on everyday risk hazards; such as fatigue, distracted driving, and opioid prescription drugs.
Ms. Brosnihan reflected on changes seen since the first Forum, 25 years ago: “If you put it into perspective, in 1992 the internet was less than a year old.
“This year the hot topic is cyber security. Technological growth has shaped the world as we know it, including the insurance industry. One of our speakers will explore how the future of tech will impact healthcare. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come, and how far we’ll continue to grow in this regard.”
The conference will also host a variety of unique networking opportunities; including golf tournaments, poolside receptions, beach parties, a fireworks display, and even an ice cream break.
“Ice cream will always be a favourite. You could say that some things never change!” smiled Ms Brosnihan.
The Cayman Captive Forum will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman from 28 – 30 November 2017.
