CAYMAN INTERNATIONAL HOSTS THE AMIS LATIN AMERICAN HONOR CHOIR GALA CONCERT Sat 29 March

Cayman International School (CIS) is inviting the Cayman community to a free musical event taking place on Saturday 29 March 2025, as it hosts the Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) Latin American Middle School and High School Honor Choir Gala Concert. The concert will take place at 7:00pm in the CIS High School Gymnasium and doors open at 6:30pm.

The event marks the culmination of AMIS’s 50th festival season and brings together talented student musicians from CIS, the Cayman Youth Choir, and six international schools from across South America and the Caribbean, in a unique opportunity of cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.

The international guest schools arrive on Wednesday, March 26, and will engage in a series of rehearsals with CIS and the Cayman Youth Choir as well as cultural activities throughout the festival, culminating in the gala concert on Saturday.  While there is no admission charge, attendees are encouraged to donate to the AMIS Scholarship Fund, supporting students who require financial assistance to participate in AMIS festivals.

“We are honored to host this event and celebrate AMIS’s 50th anniversary,” said Jim Urquhart, Director of Cayman International School.

“Music has the unique ability to unite students from diverse backgrounds, and this festival is an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate talent and creativity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to DART, the CIS Family School Association (FSA), and all participating families for their generous support in making this event possible. I would also like to thank CIS’s dedicated music teachers, Melody and Cody Gifford, whose efforts in coordinating this festival have brought global attention to the school’s commitment to music education and cultural collaboration,” he said.

Tickets are not required; all members of the community are welcome to attend on the evening without prior reservation.
