Cayman Islanders – Want to promote your small business?
Local business owners — whether they are new entrepreneurs or more established owners — can use a popular medium to promote their businesses.
The Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI) is seeking exhibitors for its Small-Business Expo, taking place on Saturday, 18 April, at the Family Life Centre. The event is going into its third year, having previously been billed as a celebration of Cayman Entrepreneurship Day.
DCI Director Ryan Rajkumarsingh said the expo will provide a substantial amount of promotion for small businesses.
‘It is a fantastic opportunity for small- and micro-business owners to exhibit their goods and services to the general public’, Mr Rajkumarsingh said. ‘Through the expo, they also will be able to network with other business owners, learn best practices, and see how they can do business together, all in a cost-effective manner’.
The exhibitor booths consistently have sold out, attracting dozens of exhibitors. Key features of the expo include technical workshops; face-to-face meetings with accomplished entrepreneurs; a platform for budding entrepreneurs to present their business ideas; and a cocktail reception and business networking event.
The expo is intended to increase awareness of the variety of micro and small businesses in the local market, stimulate immediate sales for exhibitors, provide insight into the special needs of businesses in crisis, and educate a wider audience about the services DCI provides to local commerce.
Booth spaces are limited, and booked on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on reserving a booth, please contact DCI Business Services Officer Thais Ducent @ [email protected]
