On Tuesday 5th August 2014, HM Customs Officers arrested one male passenger who arrived in the Cayman Islands on a flight from Jamaica, for possession and importation of cannabis resin known as hashish.

The passenger, who is a Caymanian national, was returning home after a short vacation. During a search, officers discovered the substance, and after a preliminary assessment, the passenger was arrested. The male passenger is now on bail while investigation continues.

We have a zero tolerance approach to any illegal drugs; we will maintain our concentrated vigilance and wish to remind the public that offences of this nature can result in imprisonment.”
