Cayman Islands: 57-Year-Old-Woman Charged with Wounding and Assault GBH

Today, 28 December, a 57-year-old-woman of West Bay has been charged with Assault GBH (inflicting) and Wounding with Intent following an incident that took place yesterday, 27 December.
Just before 2:15AM on Thursday, 27 December, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a residence located on Meadow Avenue in West Bay. It was reported that a woman attacked a man known to her, with a machete, causing him injuries to his hand and face after which, she then fled the scene.
EMS attended the location and transported the man the hospital where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening-injuries, and was later released.
The police conducted a search of the nearby area for the suspect. After several hours of searching, she was found and subsequently arrested on suspicion wounding and later taken into custody where she remained throughout the investigation.
The woman is expected to be in court today at 2PM.
