Cayman Islands: Attempted robbery West Bay

Just after 9:00 pm on Saturday, 12th March 2016, two employees of a liquor store on West Church Street, West Bay were alerted by a loud bang at the business’ side glass door. They saw a suspect removing broken glass and attempting to enter the store. The suspect threatened them with a gun, and they ran out of the store. Whilst running out of the store, they heard a loud explosion which sounded like a gun shot.
The suspect was dressed in a dark jacket with a hoody covering his head. He wore dark coloured gloves and black shoes. He was about 5’ 8” tall.
No one was physically injured. Nothing appeared to have been stolen at the time of the report.
The matter is being investigated by West Bay CID. Anyone who may have information about the attempted robbery is asked to contact WBPS at 949-3999 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).
