Just past 12AM last Thursday morning, 8 November, police responded to the hospital regarding a report of a woman who had arrived to emergency care and had been badly beaten that evening.  The woman was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries and later released.

That day officers arrested a 28-year-old Bodden Town man in connection with the assault.  The man was kept in police custody over the weekend. The man and the victim are known to each other.  The man has been charged with Assault GBH and will appear in court this morning, 13 November.
