Cayman Islands: Cayman Thanksgiving
Cayman Thanksgiving is a weekend-long celebration that honours Cayman’s culture, heritage and togetherness. Unlike American or Canadian Thanksgiving, Cayman Thanksgiving is celebrated during the first weekend of December to mark the end of Hurricane Season and reflect on all there is to be grateful for.
In 2015 Cayman Connection UK encouraged members to be a part of the Cayman celebration by preparing their own traditional Caymanian meals for friends and family throughout Europe. This is a great way to share our heritage with friends, flatmates and colleagues who may have never before experienced delicious food from the Caribbean.
This year’s celebrations will be observed from Friday 2nd December- Sunday 4th December 2016. A big thank you to everyone who got involved this year, and shared Cayman Thanksgiving in the UK with their friends and family. We hope to hear more of your Cayman thanksgiving stories this year.
