Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce get the gloves on for the 2017 Earth Day Clean-up

The Chamber of Commerce is making the final preparations ahead of their 2017 Earth Day Clean-up on Saturday, April 22.

This year they have partnered with Guy Harvey to design an exclusive t-shirt, which features a one-of-a-kind logo designed by Guy himself.

“Earth Day is a vital community event that allows us to work alongside our friends, colleagues and neighbours to preserve the beauty and safety of the Cayman Islands,” said Wil Pineau, Chamber CEO. “To have Guy Harvey personally design the t-shirt and support the event is very special, and the Chamber staff, Council and I wholeheartedly thank him.”

The 2017 clean-up is the 21st that the Chamber has held, and over the years volunteers have collected just under 20,000 bags of litter & garbage from our roads & beaches.

Earth Day is also an important event that is closely tied to the Chamber’s Environmental Pledge. Launched in 2007, the Pledge encourages businesses, schools and community members to preserve and protect our environment, and commit to reducing waste, conserving energy, recycling, and implementing greener ways of living.

Over 1,000 participants have volunteered for the Earth Day Clean-up this year, and the Chamber is calling on businesses and members of the community to volunteer while they still can.

Volunteers will be in with the chance of owning one of the Guy Harvey designed t-shirts, as well as exclusive caps, tote bags, and water bottles (while stock lasts).

The clean-up will conclude with a well-deserved brunch to be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at George Town Yacht Club.

Those interested in volunteering should complete the online application by visitingwww.caymanchamber.ky/earthday.
