Cayman Islands Chamber raises $25,000 reward for armed robbery convictions

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce has raised $25,000 from members as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects behind the robbery at Foster’s Food Fair (Dorcy Drive) on Saturday, April 8.

One suspect was detained by the police in connection to the crime – in which a security guard was shot twice – but has been released on bail. The getaway car – a white Honda CR-V – was discovered abandoned at the end of Admirals Landing in Red Bay.

“Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to come forward,” said Chamber CEO, Wil Pineau. “The business community is united in its desire for police to capture the criminals as quickly as possible but they can only do this with further reliable information.” He also thanked the numerous businesses that have agreed to fund the reward from various industry sectors.

Any persons with information pertaining to this case should contact the Cayman Crime Stopper tipster line on 800-TIPS (8477).
