Cayman Islands Civil Service College Opens 2025 Scholarship Application Period

The Cayman Islands Civil Service College (CSC) is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the second year of the CSC Scholarship Programme. Following a successful inaugural year in 2024, during which six scholarships were awarded, the programme continues to support the professional development and career advancement of Caymanian civil servants.

Building on last year’s success, the CSC Scholarship Programme provides financial assistance to eligible civil servants seeking higher education opportunities, underscoring the College’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Directly aligned with one of the Civil Service Strategic Plan’s main goals –‘Pursuing Excellence in Talent Development’, the programme not only equips civil servants with the knowledge needed for their current roles but also provides opportunities to gain internationally recognised certifications that enhance their qualifications and career prospects.

Deputy Governor and sponsor of the scholarship programme, the Honourable Franz Manderson, reaffirmed the significance of the initiative, stating, “Education and professional development remain at the heart of our vision for a world-class civil service. These scholarships are an important part of how we support the development of our Caymanian civil servants  — ensuring they are well prepared to take on future responsibilities and to continue driving excellence in the public service.”

Chief Officer of the Portfolio of the Civil Service, Mrs. Gloria McField-Nixon, added, “The CSC Scholarship Programme sits alongside a range of learning and development opportunities designed to empower civil servants to gain greater confidence within their existing roles and to advance their careers, by developing additional qualifications and skillsets aligned to their aspirations. Through these efforts, we continue to nurture a culture of growth and learning that increasingly makes the Civil Service a place where talented individuals are proud to build their careers and to contribute to Making Lives Better across the Cayman Islands.”
