Cayman Islands Civil Service family fundraises for Big Brothers Big Sisters

PH POCS Big Brothers Big Sisters Cheque Presentation 270315 SEBig Brothers and Big Sisters got a helping hand from the Civil Service today, 27 March 2015.

Public sector employees on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac dressed in purple to raise funds for the charity and to promote awareness within the service. Combined efforts raised $475.

On Grand Cayman this morning Acting Deputy Governor Eric Bush led a team that presented a cheque to Big Brother Big Sister representative Angela Sealey on the steps of the new Government Administration Building. Meanwhile civil servants in Cayman Brac showed their support for the cause with a group photo.

DI DA Big Brother Big Sister Dress Down Day 270315Big Brothers Big Sisters supports young people’s positive development by facilitating one-on-one relationships between caring adults and children. Rev. Stanwyck Myles and others introduced the organisation to the Cayman Islands in the mid-1980s.

Today’s civil service initiative was organised by the Portfolio of the Civil Service and endorsed by the Deputy Governor’s Office.
