UCCI student receives prize from Cayman Finance
Cayman Finance recently presented the winning prize of an iPad Air to University College of the Cayman Islands student, Kendra Rankin after she correctly answered and submitted a quiz at Cayman Finance’s booth at the Chamber of Commerce’s Career Expo.
Jude Scott, CEO of Cayman Finance, said “Congratulations to Kendra on winning her prize. Cayman’s financial services industry is the largest employer of Caymanians, so it is important to educate people in the community, especially our students, about the industry, its role in the global economy, and its various career opportunities,” Mr Scott said. “In order to educate and engage the students, they had to read an overview about the industry and then correctly complete the quiz.”
100 people completed the survey and a winner was drawn at random.
Ms Rankin said “I’m very grateful to win the iPad Air and it has already contributed greatly to my academic life. It gives me access to educational apps pertaining to my studies and is much lighter to carry around than a regular laptop.”
“Regardless if I would have won or not, I’m happy to have learned new facts about the Cayman’s financial services industry from the quiz,” Ms Rankin said.
Ms Rankin is working on her Associates of Science degree and plans to graduate in November 2016.
Mr Scott praised the efforts of the many young people who are successfully pursuing university degrees. “Our young people are our future and Cayman Finance is proud to represent the financial services industry that provides so many career opportunities for talented young Caymanians,” Mr Scott said.
