WHO: VOLUNTEERS FROM GT, MLAs, HMCI, RED CROSS.
WHY: BECAUSE THIS MAKES CAYMAN STRONGER AND MORE RESILIENT AND THE GROUPS ARE UPPAID COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
HMCI is extending an invitation to you to attend the graduation of the Windsor Park Community Emergency Response Team (Windsor Park CERT) at the George Town Town Hall May 23rd at 5:30 p.m.
This graduation is a short function to present to the 25 members certificate of completion for the Community Emergency Response Team training conducted by HMCI, CI Red Cross and other partners. The team’s authentication certificate will also be presented legitimizing the team and their function as a community disaster preparedness group.
The 28 hour training course was conducted over 14 weeks. The members have completed training in the following areas and are certified First Aiders / CPR’s.

Vulnerability Capacity Assessment
Fire Safety and Utility Controls
Light Search and Rescue Operations
Stress Management and Psycho-Social Support

The CERT programme is to build resilience in the communities through the empowering of residents to prepare and respond to disaster events and manage the hazards within their community. Attached is a brief of the CERT programme and the invitation. The graduation begins at 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
