Cayman Islands dive site awarded 2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) is proud to announce that the Kittiwake Shipwreck & Artificial Reef recently received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award. Now in its fifth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor. Certificate of Excellence winners include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, and quantity of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period as well as business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, a business/attraction must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
Tiffany Dixon-Ebanks, Executive Director of the CITA remarks “We are ecstatic at this news. As the only dive site in our waters which is actually maintained and managed by the CITA, we are happy to see what past visitors have been saying about the dive sit, their experiences and our island in general. We are celebrating the 5th anniversary of the sinking of the Kittiwake next January and the feedback simply attests to how successful the site has been at attracting both divers and snorkelers. On behalf of our destination and to CITA’s water sports operators and members who take guests out on a weekly basis, I would like to publicly thank all past visitors who took the time to provide their positive comments on TripAdvisor. Hats off to all who played a role in the sinking as well as our waterports members who continuously ensure guests’ experiences and expectations are met and exceeded.”
CITA’s Watersports Director, Ash McKnight added “The visionary team that brought the Kittiwake to the Cayman Islands hit a bull’s-eye on this attraction. It’s rare that a shipwreck is honoured with this prestigious award and it goes to show that both CITA and the Cayman Islands Government working together facilitates a win win situation for a great Cayman tourism product.”
Persons wishing to experience the Kittiwake may contact any of CITA’s licensed Kittiwake Operators so they can take them out to the dive site. A full list of Kittiwake Operators are posted online at www.kittiwakecayman.com
