Cayman Islands: Donette Morris-Seymour is Top Choice CS for July
Cayman Islands: Senior Social Work Assistant Donette Morris-Seymour so well embodies the values and mission of the Needs Assessment Unit that she has earned the Deputy Governor’s top civil service employee spot for July.
The first recipient in the 2014-2015 fiscal year, Ms Morris-Seymour always says yes to hard work, yet still finds time to assist her colleagues when necessary. She has earned her co-workers’ respect, through her professionalism and strong sense of integrity in everything she does.
Ms Morris-Seymour, who earned the title of “most helpful”, gets along well with her colleagues and is also genuinely interested in their professional development and performance.
She invariably gives much of her own time to ensure her clients’ needs are met in a timely manner, coming in early, staying late and working weekends, when necessary.
Correspondingly, she holds her clients accountable and tries to empower them to improve their lives.
Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson, Cert. Hon., JP, lauds her capacity to resolve complex issues and her outstanding team spirit. Mr Manderson also praises her for her sensitivity and for putting in extra hours to complete urgent assignments and projects, as well as provide timely services with respect, fairness and confidentiality.
The Deputy Governor’s Award programme is an internal award scheme that recognises civil servants who exceed expectations. The programme is in its third year now.
