UPDATE: Deceased named – Cayman Islands drowning at Rum Point

RCIPS are confirming the name of the water fatality on Sunday 12th October 2014. He is 41 year old Henry William Dixon of East End.
Officers from RCIPS Marine Unit are continuing their investigation of this drowning and is requesting anyone who may have information to contact PC Dwight Rivers of the Marine Unit at 949 7710.
RCIPS extends condolences to the bereave family.

Police Investigate Rum Point Drowning
Today Sunday 12th October 2014 at 18:21hrs a report was receieved by the Central Emergency Centre (911) of a male being pulled from the water at Rum Point, North Side. Further updates stated that the victim was being conveyed by a private vessel to ‘Duck Pond’ Leeward Drive, North Sound Estates.
Emergency Medical Services, Police Uniform Section and Police Marine Unit attended the location. The victim, a 41 year old local received treatment at the location before being transported to the George Town Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased after receiving further treatment.
The RCIPS extends condolences to the bereaved family.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing and further details will be made available in due course.
