UPDATE:  Feb 15 2018 – Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the below incident, especially those who may have seen the man enter the water. Anyone with any information is asked to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222

Just after 12:40PM today, police and other emergency personnel were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a possible drowning in the area of Spotts Beach, George Town.

Police, paramedics and other members of the public made attempts at reviving and resuscitate a 65 year old man from the USA, was found unresponsive out in the water.  Their efforts proved futile.

The man was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the on duty A&E doctor at 1:31PM.
