Cayman-islands-Elections-officeIn keeping with the order made by the governor to extend the 2nd quarter registration period through midnight Tuesday January 22nd, the Elections Office is currently making provisions to accommodate all qualified persons who did not take the opportunity to register during the original registration drive which ended on January 2nd.

The Elections Office will be establishing a registration station in the lobby of the Smith Road Centre 150 Smith Road which will be staffed by registering officers or their assistants on a daily basis during this period and on Tuesday night on the 22nd until midnight.  All individuals who have not registered please note that this is your final opportunity to register.  Also, all those who may have had a change of name, occupation or street address this is your final opportunity to complete a form 13 and submit it to the elections office.  The Cayman Brac and Little Cayman registering officer will also be maintaining similar hours of registration.

For those who previously submitted applications to register and were instructed to inspect the revised registers of electors which were to be published on Tuesday 22nd January the revised lists will now be published on Tuesday 29th January instead.

All qualified persons applying to register are asked to provide supporting documentation to the registering officers when visiting the registration station.

The last day for claims and objections will now be 20th February instead of the 12th.   Otherwise the 2013 elections programme remains as previously published with the 2nd quarter registers of electors coming into effect on 1st April, 2013 lists.
