Further information regarding the fatal accident that occurred yesterday, 19 April, in East End:

The accident occurred just after a delivery had been made to the victim’s residence by a Sterling dump truck.  The victim appears to have been struck by the truck as it was leaving.  The accident occurred on the premises of the victim’s residence about 5:00pm.

The victim can now be identified as Ms. Esther Scott, age 66, of East End.

The driver of the truck, a man, age 43, of North Side, is currently on Police Bail.

We are requesting that any witnesses to this accident please call the Traffic Management Unit at 946-6254.

About 5:03 pm on Tuesday 19 April 2016 the police and other emergency services responded to a report of a single motor vehicle accident involving a female pedestrian near the intersection of John McLean Drive and Quantum Drive.

The female pedestrian was transported to the George Town Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested by the police on suspicion of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving. The matter is under investigation by the police.
