UPDATE: CIFS Brings Fire Under Control
Firefighters have brought a bush fire between the Agriculture Pavilion and Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town under control.
In his update on the blaze, Chief Fire Officer for the Cayman Islands Fire Service, Randy Rankin reassured the public that every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of residents and their property. “I am happy to report that based on swift action by the firefighters, the fire has been contained. A few hot spots remain, and the officers will stay on the scene to monitor the situation closely and ensure the area is safe,” Mr Rankin stated.
While the fire has been contained, there may be visible smoke in the area until the hot spots completely burn out. The CIFS continues to encourage residents to follow any instructions provided by the emergency team.

The Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) is currently on the scene of a large bush fire between the Agriculture Pavilion and Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town. The fire started this afternoon, and CIFS personnel were immediately deployed to contain and extinguish the blaze.
In response Chief Fire Officer, Randy Rankin said the crews are managing the situation to ensure the flames do not spread. “The officers responded quickly, and we wish to assure residents in the area and the wider public that CIFS crews will remain on the scene until the situation is fully resolved,” Mr Rankin said.
The CIFS urges residents to remain vigilant and to follow any instructions provided by the emergency response teams. “The safety of the community is our top priority, and we are working tirelessly to completely extinguish the blaze,” Mr Rankin added.
