Police Ask Witnesses of Firearm Incident to Come Forward
Police are renewing their appeal to the public today regarding the incident that took place between two officers and Jonathan Welcome near McField Square around 1:30AM this past Sunday, 17 April. During this incident, Mr. Welcome pointed a firearm at officers. We are aware that several members of the public were in the area at the time and probably saw this incident. We urge them to come forward by calling Detective Sergeant Andrew Graham at 516-3070 with whatever information they have.

Police request public assistance to locate suspect
Around 1:30AM Sunday morning, 17 April, armed officers on patrol in the vicinity of McField Square in George Town were confronted by an armed man.
One officer deployed his firearm in response and commanded the man to drop the gun several times, exercising extraordinary restraint and concern for public safety as a crowd was gathered nearby.
The man, while pointing the gun at the officers, fled into the densely populated area of Rock Hole where he was able to elude capture.
The RCIPS is seeking public assistance to locate this man, who is known as JONATHAN WELCOME, age 22, of Bodden Town. His picture is attached. Mr. Welcome is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached; if seen please call 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).
