Cayman Islands First Assembly of God’s delightful Sunday School Christmas programme
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given”.
I was at the First Assembly of God’s Sunday School Christmas programme last Sunday (9) and what a delightful experience it was.
The church was almost fall, mainly with proud parents and friends of the children performing, and no one was disappointed.
Yes, there were a few technical problems with the sound but everyone who participated had been well versed in what they had to do.
From the tiny tots to the young adults we learned the story of Christ from the creation of the Earth. with Adam and Eve plus a very evil snake!
The programme said it was called THE FALL and was a “dramatic scene with Dub poetry”. It did take a little while for Dub to spring to life through the speakers but it was well worth the wait.
Then we had some scripture and a musical drama called “The Plan of Redemption”. This was a play aith a Sunday Class answering questions from the teacher as if Mary and Joseph were children.
After some musical entertainment Mary and Joseph were now teenagers and the time was now – not over 2,000 years ago.
The rest of the programme was filled with musical items, dancing, narratives and poems.
The item that obtained the loudest applause and shouts was a dance performance to “O come All Ye Faithful” from church’s Children’s Dance Group.
A lot of hard work went into the production and I still don’t know how a few teachers (all female) were able to keep order from such a large number of children.
Well done everyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
