Cayman Islands Football Association holds FIFA women’s coaching course
The Cayman Islands Football Association was pleased to host the FIFA Women’s Coaching Course on Thursday, 11 September 2015, through Monday, 14 September 2015, at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
The course, was aimed at teaching participants the basics of coaching relative to women’s football with the goal of increasing the number of qualified coaches whom are involved with both the girls’ and women’s leagues on island. With over 30 registrants but only 30 spaces the course attracted high interest which highlights the increasing popularity in women’s football.
CIFA Acting President Bruce Blake says he is pleased with the interest and shows it demonstrates the desire of young coaches to get involved with the women’s game, which he hopes will translate to making the leagues much more active and push women’s football to new heights.
The CIFA Women’s League will be played on Sundays this season alongside its male counterpart the Cayman Premier League.
