Cayman Islands: George Town Man arrested for drugs and animal cruelty

Just before 11AM, yesterday 27 November, police had cause to enter a residence on Brushy Avenue, George Town, to conduct a search under the Misuse of Drugs Law. During the search officers recovered a quantity of ganja as well as utensils and a sum of cash.
The officers also searched outside the premises, where they located 38 illegal gaming roosters. These roosters were examined by the Department of Agriculture and later seized.
A 38-year-old-man of George Town was arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja, possession of ganja with intent to supply, possession of drug utensils, consumption of ganja and animal cruelty. The man is being held pending further investigations.
