Cayman Islands Government Boards payments announced

imagesFollowing a number of requests from Caymanian lawyer Peter Polack re payments that members on the Cayman Islands Government boards receive he has received the following answers:

1.Department of Health Regulatory Services (DHRS)
Health Insurance Commission (HIC)
Health Practice commission (HPC)
Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM)
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Medical and Dental Council (MDC)
Pharmacy Council (PC)
Members who are employed with statutory authorities or within main stream Government do NOT receive a stipend. Other serving member receive the following per monthly meeting attendance: Chairperson- $200 & Members- $150
2. Immigration Appeals Tribunal
Members receive a stipend of $100 per meeting attended and Chairmen receive $150 per meeting attended.
3. Commissions Secretariat
Anti-Corruption Commission
Civil Service Appeals Commission
Commission for Standards in Public Life
Constitutional Commission
Human Rights Commission
Judicial and Legal Services Commission
Chairman of all Commissions entitled to receive remuneration except the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission who is not entitled to receive remuneration.
Chairmen of our Commissions are entitled to claim $200 per meeting, up to a maximum of $1000 per month.
4. Immigration –Nothing given
5. NHDT
The Chairman of the NHDT Board receives a fee amount of CI$ 150 per board meeting attended.
6. Ministry of Health
The chairman of the Health Services Authority Board of Directors receives $150 per meeting attendance.
7. Port Authority
The chairman of the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands board receives an emolument of $150.00 per meeting.
8. Central Planning Authority
The CPA meets approximately twice per month and the EBE approximately once per month and each member including the chairman receives $100 per meeting.
9. Central Tenders Committee
The chairman receives $100 per meeting.
10. Adoption Board
The chairman receives $150 per meeting
11. Water Authority Board
Chairman receives a $200 monthly payment and $25 per meeting.
12. CAACI
The CAACI Board has one position of ‘Chairman’ who receives a payment of CI$150.00 per meeting.
13. Public Service Pensions board
$250 per meeting for (2) non civil service Trustee
14. CINICO
$350 per meeting for chairman
15. Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA)
$700 per month and $100 per meeting for chairman (Dale Crighton)
16. Prison Inspection Board
$150 per meeting for chairman
17. Education Council
The only “benefit” Education Council receives is lunch provided at each meeting. The cost for this which the Ministry of Education pays for averages between CI$200.00 – $250.00 per meeting.
18. Minimum Wage Committee
• Chair received CI$75.00 for every meeting attended
 Other members received CI$50.00 for every meeting attended
19. Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands
The chairman (Philip Barnes) receives $562.50 per meeting
20. Turtle Farm
The chairman receives $200 per meeting

OTHERS
Plumbers Examination Board Chairman:

Water Authority Board Chairman

Commissions:
The Chairman of all Commissions, with the exception of one, are entitled to receive a remuneration. The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission is the only Chairman not entitled to receive remuneration. Chairmen of our Commissions are entitled to claim $200 per meeting, up to a maximum of $1000 per month.
The Commissions Secretariat supports the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Civil Service Appeals Commission, the Commission for Standards in Public Life, the Constitutional Commission, the Human Rights Commission and the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, therefore this information covers those six Commissions only:

Cabinet Office
The only Board that falls under the Cabinet Office that receives stipends is the Immigration Appeals Tribunal, members of the Tribunal receive a stipend of $100 per meeting attended and Chairmen receive $150 per meeting attended. There are no further benefits, emoluments or payments received by chairmen or members a side from this stipend.

CIG.

Port Authority of the Cayman Islands
The chairman of the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands board receives an emolument of $150.00 per meeting.
