Cayman Islands Health Services continues to streamline
The Health Services Authority is further enhancing its pharmacy services to ensure the most vulnerable individuals and those with chronic health conditions, who are experiencing financial challenges, are able to access essential prescribed medications, whilst improving the patient experience.
In addition to the existing social programmes offered through the Needs Assessment Unit, the Authority’s Patient Experience Department located on the ground floor of the Cayman Islands Hospital is also providing immediate onsite support to patients with financial challenges. The Authority remains committed to assisting patients to access needed services they require.
According to the Ms. Yearwood, HSA CEO “While improving our collections is important, if you are having difficulty paying for your medication we want you to contact us”.
As an added measure, the Authority has also opened a dedicated window at the Cayman Islands Hospital Pharmacy for CINICO members. Given the large volume of prescriptions being processed daily for this group of patients, it is anticipated that this will expedite payment and prescription processing for other patients.
Ms. Yearwood says the Authority continuously evaluates any new policy or service introduction, utilizing patient and public feedback and its own internal operational review processes to make any adjustments necessary to optimize service and care delivery to its valued patients.
