Cayman Islands Key Clubbers attend conference in Orlando US
On April 10th 2015, 26 Key Clubbers left the shores of Grand Cayman to attend the 2015 Key Club District Leadership and Education Conference in Orlando, Florida. This annual event is attended by over 2,000 students and chaperones from clubs all over Florida and the Cayman Islands. The 26 attendees from Grand Cayman participated in educational workshops, motivational speeches, caucuses and social events. They also had an opportunity to vote on their future leaders of the Florida District, including the District Board of Executives and the endorsing of International Candidates.
From the Cayman Islands division, Dominique Small, a dual enrollment student of John Gray High School and the UCCI, received three awards for her contributions as Lieutenant Governor of Key Club in Grand Cayman, the Leaders of Leaders award, Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lt. Governor and award for the Most Improved Division out of the District.
John Gray High School and Triple C School also took home awards. John Gray High School was recognized for their club growth and their participation in the Governor’s Project. Triple C school was awarded 100% Pride Report Submission.
Ms. Small extends her gratitude and congratulations to the Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman for all that they have done to help the Key Clubs of Grand Cayman, assisting in their home life, school and in the community. As Ms. Small has now retired from her position as Lt Governor, she adds “I wish my successor and past Secretary for the Triple C School, Beatriz Bueno Dorea a most successful year. I also hope her heart for service as well as her confidence grows as much as mine did while serving on the 2014/2015 Florida Board of Trustees!”
