Cayman Islands law firm Conyers welcomes new Corporate Associate
Conyers Dill & Pearman congratulates Ryan McConvey on his call to the bar of the Cayman Islands Law Society and his appointment as Associate in the corporate department of the Firm’s Cayman Islands office.
Ryan joined Conyers in September 2015 as Articled Clerk, and passed four months of his Articleship in the Firm’s Hong Kong office. During this time he gained international experience and hands-on training on Cayman-related matters including mergers and acquisitions, listings of Cayman companies on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, contentious board and shareholder meetings and other general corporate and restructuring matters.
Speaking of his appointment, Kevin Butler, Partner & Head of the Cayman Islands office, said “We are pleased to have Ryan continue his relationship with the Firm as an Associate. His secondment to Hong Kong provided him with unique exposure to wide-ranging and sophisticated legal work. This, in combination with the foundational experience gained during his Articleship in Cayman, makes him a highly valued addition to our team”.
Conyers’ Partner Gene DaCosta, who was Ryan’s Principal for the duration of his Articleship, commented further that “It is important for us, as a Firm, to support the professional development of Caymanian lawyers, and Ryan’s Articleship was an example of that commitment. We are now looking forward to the contributions he will bring as a member of our corporate team “.
