Cayman Islands Legends announces line-up for 2018
The hugely popular Legends tennis event has announced its return to Festival Green in Camana Bay for one night only on 9 February 2018. The Friday evening event will include an exciting line-up of men’s and women’s singles as well as mixed doubles tennis with some of the biggest names in the game, including Jimmy Connors, Pat Cash, Stefan Edberg and current US Open champion, Sloane Stephens.
Tickets for the event will be on sale from 1 November via the Legends website and are expected to sell out fast thanks to a stellar line up of players, including a current Grand Slam champion and two former world number ones. Making her debut in Grand Cayman, American tennis sensation Sloane Stephens will be taking part in both singles and doubles at Legends 2018, displaying the skills that led to her winning her first major at the 2017 US Open in September.
Also making his Legends debut in mixed doubles is James ‘Jimmy’ Connors, often considered amongst the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport thanks to his 125 career titles including five US Open victories. Legends favourites Stefan Edberg and Pat Cash will be returning to Grand Cayman to take part in men’s singles with the pair collectively boasting over 75 career titles, including Wimbledon, the Australian Open and US Open. The final female tennis star is soon-to-be-announced.
For Legends 2018, only two ticket types are available; General Admission bleacher tickets priced at $100 per ticket and General Admission Plus tickets providing more comfortable seating for $150 per ticket. VIP areas will be reserved for Legends sponsors only with no all-inclusive VIP tickets being sold for the Legends 2018 event.
Chris Duggan, VP of Community Development for event organiser and sponsor Dart commented: “Legends is known for attracting some of the biggest names in the game and 2018 will be no exception as we welcome our first reigning Grand Slam champion to the island. In total, our four players have secured over 200 career titles between them so we can expect to see some top-class matches on the night.
“For the 2018 event we have increased our General Admission capacity to accommodate what we imagine will be a huge interest from the local community. For the first time, we will also be selling tickets exclusively online via the Legends website, meaning those looking to buy a ticket can choose their seats at the time of purchase, as well as purchasing food and drink tickets in advance to avoid lines on the night.”
Sponsorship packages are available for companies looking to increase their exposure in front of an anticipated sell-out crowd of more than 1,500 people. Packages start from as little as $5,000 for a bronze sponsorship package including all-inclusive box seating and general admission tickets, spaces at a Legends player clinic and access to the exclusive player meet and greet.
