Cayman Islands: Man arrested and charged with offences Including wrongful confinement and rape

Shortly after 1:30AM on Wednesday, 1 November, the 9-1-1 Communication Centre received a report of a person in distress at a residence in George Town. Police responded to the location. Receiving no response, they entered the residence and came upon a woman in apparent distress, as well as a man, in the residence. The man, aged 24 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of assault and harassment. FSU detectives are leading an investigation into the matter and all necessary safeguarding measures have been put in place for the victim.
The man was formally charged today, 3 November, with Making Threats to Kill, Assault ABH, Wrongful Confinement, Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress, and Rape. He is appearing in court this morning.
