MVA – Pedestrian Knocked Unconscious in West Bay

Police responded to a report of an MVA about 1:20 am 01/01/2016 on Watercourse Rd, West Bay, where a female pedestrian was knocked down by a vehicle. Victim was unconscious and breathing, and was transported to the GT Hospital by ambulance.
Both victim and driver of vehicle are local. Police are investigating the matter.
Note: There was no arrest in relation to the MVA. The victim in this matter is confirmed as having ‘non life threatening injuries’.
Man arrested on suspicion of theft at Smith Cove

Just before 12 noon today, 30 December, uniform officers responded to a report of an incident at Smith Cove. While swimming, a woman had seen a man remove a bag from her belongings onshore. The woman’s husband and others present chased the man and detained him at the location until police arrived shortly thereafter. The man, age 42, of George Town was arrested on suspicion of Theft and is currently in police custody.
