Cayman Islands: Man charged in bar stabbing early Sat morning, 29 July

Around 1:45AM on Saturday morning, 29 July, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a fight and stabbing at Vic’s Bar. A man at the bar reported to officers that he had been in an altercation with another man whom he knew at the location, and had sustained multiple stab wounds to his head, back and both hands. The man who had stabbed him had left the location. The victim was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance and was treated and admitted in stable location.
At around 2:30AM the same morning a man, age 46 of George Town, came to George Town Police Station, stating he had been attacked in Vic’s Bar and defended himself. The man had minor injuries and was taken to Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment. Officers later arrested this man on suspicion of assault GBH.
Yesterday the 46-year-old man was charged with Wounding with Intent and will be in court this morning, 31 July.
