From RCIPS Tue Aug 15 2017 at 12:32pm
On Sunday, 13 August, police received information regarding dangerous driving by illegal motorbikes in the Eastern Districts, culminating at Rum Point. Uniform officers and the Air Operations Unit responded to the area, and upon seeing the police, the riders, six in all, spontaneously sped off in different directions.
One of the riders rode onto the beach, where it is reported that he nearly struck people and children on the sand. The rider was not pursued onto the sand, but spontaneously rode in that direction on his own.
The incident is under police investigation. No arrests have yet been made.
